Gabriel goes to look for Cas but is also kept by Sam. I think their dad was Dick but I could be wrong.

It brings them to New Orleans, where Sam and Dean have to hunt down a word-of-mouth, bedtime grapevine of a story based on the word of Heaven and Hell of another Samuel Colt-forged weapon: a knife built on the Word of a God.


This. was. FANTASTIC. I hadn’t even heard of this story until yesterday. It was apparently part of last year’s dcbb, but I couldn’t find a link for it there. So maybe it wasn’t finished in time, got lost in the hubbub, and not posted? Regardless, I only read it after seeing a friend with pretty spectacular tastes rave about it. And holy shit balls am I glad I did!

Oh fic, how I love thee. Let me count the ways. First of fucking all, the format! It’s written like a screenplay. I got to the AO3 link, saw pdf download links, and was like wtf is this shit? But jdkfdofj! I loved the format! Secondly, the leviathans!! The are delightfully evil, sadistic, and horrifying. Like…real fucked up. Mind the warnings (graphic torture; even without the small bit of explicit sex, this fic would definitely be labeled NC-17). This is probably not a good story for those new to dark!fic, lol. Thirdly, the language was dark, raw, and chilling; it’s just wonderfully written. Fourthly, Dean. His pining for Cas! AGHH. He’s lost, depressed, but still devoted. So deliciously angsty! I also love that Sam’s hallucinations were a focus. Fifthly, the ending! A perfectly tragic ending. My only real complaint is that the pacing was a bit off in the second half. But honestly? I think that’s mainly my prejudice against shorter stories.

My Rating: A+

Definitely check out our hurt/comfort tag (this ask, linked on the h/c reference post, will be particularly helpful). Okay so I looked pretty much everywhere for this god damn fic and I cannot find it anywhere. It started off with Dean coming back to the small town where he moved to and met Cas and fell in love(yada yada). I remember that Cas was (for lack of a better term) a gimp and Anna was his mom and she has schizophrenia. I am absolutely in love with this blog btw. It’s flawless.

There are quite a few stories with Dean and Sam as serial killers but Cas isn’t, and even a few where Dean and Cas are both serial killers, but I haven’t been able to find any where Cas is a serial killer and Dean isn’t. Would you mind giving it a go? (And thank you!)

We only make rec lists from knowledge we already have. If we know fics that fit the parameters you’re looking for, we’ll list them and/or resources to find them. Hey guys! So Yahoo bought Tumblr and people are freaking out(I think they shouldn’t really) and saying that they would abandon or delete their blogs. I think your site would be one of the biggest losses in the fandom if you’d decide to abandon it. Please, tell me you’re not into melodramatic solutions. Lol. Omg people, hahaha. This is the third ask we’ve gotten about this, so I guess I’ll make a public post.

First of all, I highly doubt yahoo owning tumblr is going to change a thing. They aren’t randomly going to decide no porny things or whatever. I’ve come across a few guides for porting tumblr blogs to things like wordpress. So there’s that option. …Or I would just host the site myself. (Honestly, I run into so many constraints concerning tumblr’s system that if I had to rebuild this site, I would just do it my damned self so I wouldn’t have to worry about stuff like the host site not allowing things like meta tags within posts. /bitter grumbling)

Secondly, hello, I’m the mod who is super organized and paranoid about things.Of course I have this blog backed up, lol.

For those interested in doing the same, there’s httrack (highly, highly rec this),tumblelog (unfortunately doesn’t grab asks), and tumblr backup (this site was giving me some problems a week ago but hopefully it clears up soon). For those more skilled in computer programming, there’s wget. 

A program is currently being developed from the ground up to automaticallyback up this blog. (None of the services linked above perfectly fit what I wanted.) I got paranoid a few weeks ago when there were rumors of blogs getting randomly deleted. So…yeah…
